For the second consecutive year, the USS Cleveland Legacy Foundation welcomed a sold out crowd for the Cleveland Navy Ball. More than 200 guests gathered at the Union Club of Cleveland on October 13th – the U.S. Navy’s 248th birthday – to celebrate time-honored naval traditions, meet crew members of the future USS Cleveland (LCS 31), and support the mission and vision of the Foundation.
Since its formation in 2018, the USS Cleveland Legacy Foundation has swiftly become Greater Cleveland’s premier organization representing the sailors and veterans of the United States Navy.
We are pleased to share that the 2023 Cleveland Navy Ball exceeded all metrics established at last year’s event, with net proceeds of more than $170,000, including $96,000 generated for the Sailor Support Fund, which was created in 2022. In its first two years, Greater Cleveland’s generous donors have provided nearly $300,000 in net support for the USSCLF.
The Foundation has now surpassed the 75 percent mark in its $5,000,000.31 Launching a Legacy campaign, which will soon enter its public phase in anticipation of the commissioning of the future USS Cleveland in 2025.
